The Penticton 259 Air Cadet Squadron are ready to welcome new cadets for this coming training year. 

If you have a youth between the ages of 12 and 18 interested in joining the 259 Air Cadet Squadron, our next intake is Tuesday September 8, 2026.  The Royal Canadian Air Cadet program is a free national program for young Canadians aged 12 to 18. The program aims to develop good citizenship and leadership in youth, promote physical fitness, and stimulate interest in the sea, land and air activities of the Canadian Armed Forces. The Air Cadet program focuses on aviation and aerospace. 

Air Cadets offers up to 12 high school graduation credits, scholarship opportunities, free summer camps, leadership training, and even the opportunity to get your private pilot's and glider's licence.

We are an incredibly active unit, running regular training on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 9:00 pm, as well as activities most weekends, including flying, hiking, field training, music training, citizenship activities, and leadership development. This program offers something for everyone seeking a challenge.

To register a parent or guardian must complete the below online registration in advance of attending the new cadet registration night. On September 8, 2026, at 6:30 pm a parent or guardian must attend with their cadet and bring a piece of government issued ID at the Local Head Quarters in the First Baptist Church located at 1498 Government Street in Penticton.
